In This Moment

i recently discovered this band through purevolume.com i thought they had a really unique style, having a female fronted singer who both does both death metal screaming and has a really nice emotion filled voice, ive heard there style described as melodic metalcore which is probably about right i would say. im listening to the album as i type and it is a really great mix of heavy metal and catchy songs. i can honestly say theres not a bad song on the album. the band members consist of Maria Brink on vocals, Jesse Landry on bass, Chris Howrath on guitar, Blake Bunzel on guitar and Jeff Fabb on drums. The band formed in 2005 when Maria Brink and Chris Howrath met through mutual friends and began writing songs together, not before long they posted demos on myspace and where eventually signed to a worldwide record deal, the bands first album was released on march 20th 2007 called a beautiful tragedy aswell as playing ozzfest this year currently they are touring with ozzy ozbourne and rob zombie as the opening act.
